It's So Late, It's Early!
So, it's 3am on a Friday night, and I am just now getting to bed. Late night partying? No. I've been working on my 1-D chemistry and transport code. I estimate that in the last seven days I've worked 30 hours at Lockheed (part-time) and another 50 down at Tech. This is nuts. I think my family and I are going to have to revamp our work/school plan...

Strange Dream
So, I had a really strange dream last night. In the dream, I was a drummer in a band and we were playing our first gig. The problem? Not only do I not play the drums in real life, but I couldn't play them in my dream either. I didn't even sign up to be in the band. They just asked me to play at the last second.
So anyway, there we are, getting ready to play, and I pick up my two drumsticks which turn out to be Heinz ketchup bottles. I remark to our bass player that I don't think these are proper drumsticks, but he doesn't see any problem. So I start (horribly) banging away with my Heinz ketchup bottles which, fortunately, turn into real drumsticks after a while.
Everyone in the audience can tell that I'm a really bad drummer, but they don't care so much because they're focused on the lead guitarist. As it turns out, he's a prima donna and leaves midway through the opening song. So, I bang away contentedly on my drums, with my ketchup/drumsticks, while the audience chatters away about our MIA guitarist.
What does it all mean?

Sarah Palin
A lot of people out there are giving Sarah Palin a lot of flak for having the audacity to run for VP of the United States. They all say that she's not qualified to be President of the USA, which is unfortunate seeing how she'd be only a heartbeat away.
You know what: I agree. As a matter of fact, the only person running for President or VP less qualified than Sarah Palin to be President is Barack Obama. And, oh yeah, he's running for PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, not VP!!
Any person out there who supports Sen. Obama but has reservations about Gov. Palin's qualifications is hypocritically blind.

Paranoia
I think the different modules within my research code are conspiring together to make me feel dumb...

Atlanta Hawks Ownership Sucks
I am convinced that the Atlanta Hawks are the most retarded organization in all of pro sports. The Hawks ownership (Atlanta Spirit LLC) just doesn't have a clue. First, they let one of the best sixth men in the NBA, Josh Childress, run off to Greece. GREECE! Now how many kids in America grow up dreaming about playing basketball in Greece? They've also dragged out negotiations with Josh Smith to excruciatingly ridiculous limits. Think about this: The best offer they've made to Smith in the last 10 months is 5 years @ $45 million. They kept telling him that if he thought he could get better money, go ahead and try! So Memphis offers him 5 years @ $58 million and he accepts. But Atlanta, having restricted free agent rights to Smith, has 7 days to match the offer.
It takes them less than 12 hours to make the match. Think about it: For 10 months they lowball the guy, and then offer him $13 million more than they had previously planned. Why didn't they just offer him more money months ago and dispense with all of this nonsense???
I don't know if I can bring myself to attend any more Hawks games. I've just about had it with this organization.

Success!
Good news: We've returned the dogs to their owners! It turns out that most veterinary clinics have scanners that they can use to track dogs, provided they have a chip implanted. Luckily, these dogs did, and Terrill Mill Animal Hospital helped me to find the owners. Whoo hoo!
Three Dog Night
Strange experience last night. After our home teachers left at about 8:45pm, Tiffany stayed at the house with Turner and I took Maddie to the park. While Maddie and I were playing, a pregnant woman shows up with three puppies asking if I know who they belong to. I say 'no', so she turns to leave with them to look for their owners, but the dogs won't leave me. Well, this woman is scheduled to have a C-section THIS MORNING, so I figured I'd lighten her burden.
Long story short (too late?), I now have three puppies in my backyard, in addition to Maddie being in the house. We bathed and defleaed them last night, and kept them in our laundry room. So now, what do we do? I called the Cobb County Humane Society and asked them to contact me as soon as possible. They're cute dogs, and I'd hate to send them to the pound. But I know we can't keep them. I feel like Winnie the Pooh: "Think, think, think...".
